Street star backs dementia campaign
TV's Coronation Street star Johnny Briggs is backing a campaign with the Alzheimer's Society following his soap character's descent into dementia.
The actor is helping with a fundraising appeal to aid those affected by the disease.
Street fans have seen the Weatherfield factory boss Mike Baldwin's mental and physical health deteriorate in the last few months as he battles Alzheimer's.
The star said: "I was lucky when the director said 'cut' I could walk away from Alzheimer's disease.
